How to start?

Hi,

I started GMAT prep last month.I started with Princeton.Now I am going through Manhattan quant and verbal books.I agree with most members about the Manhattan sentence correction book. My CR improved a lot after going through the Manhattan CR book.I am done with Kaplan Verbal book.I got 55-65% right in all the sections.What is the difficulty level of Kaplan verbal workbook.Now my question is how to proceed now? Do I start OG now? Is it good to practice the 1000 series?

Which CAT tests are good to invest?
I have Kaplan 800 book and Kaplan premier books.
Are the questions in Kaplan books close to the real GMAT?
When should I take the Gmatprep tests?

Please guide me.

If you feel that you feel comfortable with questions and you have done a thorough job of reviewing Kaplan/POwerscore/Manhattan materials, then Yes. Working through OG will also help you figure out your weak spots. Take a look here: all-gmat-cat-practice-tests-links-prices-reviews-77460.html Usually somewhat harder in my experience. Math is fairly close but verbal is not on the spot (it is made harder by being a bit off), so you need to top it off with OG at the end to get your mind "tuned" You can save them until the point a month away from the test and a week or few days away from the test but you can be fairly liberal with them. For me, Kaplan was not much of help. I usually scored 550 to 590 on Kaplan and ended up getting 460 on real test. I would put more time on GmatPrep and Gmat Club tests if you want to score high. That's what i am planning to do

I have to give the test by sept end.would four months of perfect preparation put me in 700+ club?

Worked out to be the perfect amount of time for me. That's the amount of time I spent (3-4 months) - not too short and not too long to still have all the concepts recorded in my mind. I went from 540 to 750 - definitely possible if you put your aspirations and ambition behind it.

Is it useful to solve the 1000 series?

My RC is inconsistent. What should I do be consistent? Do we get various subject matters in the RC in the real GMAT? I am good if the topics are science related. When it comes to history, I loose interest..I want to know how the RC topics are split..Is there some kind of proportion - science vs history topics in the real exam?
