Hi,
I took my GMAT exam today and scored a dreadful 620 - Q: 45, V: 31
. I used OG 12, Kaplan GMAT Live Premier and Kaplan 800 and prepared for 2-2.5 months only. I scored a 660,630, 600, 610 on 4 Kaplan CATs and 620, 640 on GMAT Prep CATs,which I took just a week before the real test. I did not pay much attention for verbal during preparation and now I see the result of that; but I was over confident about my verbal skills(SC and RC) only because I scored high on TOEFL - I learned a lesson here. I am planning to retake the test in December as most of the schools to which I am applying have deadlines in early January. Please advice me on how to improve my score.

620 is above average, so not bombed.
The score seems to be very consistent with your GMAT prep and Kaplan scores. Any specific reason you were you expecting a higher score?

Hi,
My target was 680-700 because the average score for schools that I am applying to is around 680. I was expecting a higher score because apparently the real GMAT score will be higher than the Kaplan CAT score. But in my case in turned out to be the opposite
.Before I started my preparation, I took both the GMATPrep CATs just to see where I stand and I scored 580, 560. I was very surprised by my verbal score; I think I need some serious help with my verbal skills, could you please suggest some books to improve my verbal score. I am planning to take the test again 4th week of December.
