Walked in, handed over my passport and I-20. Here's exactly how it went, question by question:
1. 2 harm questions( do you feel threatened in India, Do you see any harm in coming back to India)
2. When did you do your UG?
3. Post UG, where did you work?
4. Your UG is in Civil Engineering and you worked in banking. Why? (I answered saying that it interests me)
5. Do you plan to continue to work in banking? (Yes, that's why I have chosen the NYU Stern full-time MBA program, which is focused on Finance. I want to come back to India and work in banking)
6. Is this a two-year course? (Yes)
7. How are you sponsoring it? (Self funds and education loan)
8. How much from self funds?
9. What does your dad do?
10. This is a $250K study. How much does an entry-level banking employee get in India? (I said entry-level gets more than 70L per annum and I should be able to pay back my loan comfortably)
Please make your social media public and handed over 221g slip.

Overall:
It was a rapid-fire round. No pauses, no second chances, one answer rolled straight into the next question. Answer to the point, Answer with conviction. Tone carries as much weight as content.

Reach an hr before interview as security check starts an hr early.

Sharing one incident not to scare but to make you aware. The booth next to mine had just seen two F1 rejections back to back. You could feel the tension in the air. This could break you, but please don't let it. Their interview is not your interview. Keep your nerves locked down, and let your answers do the talking.
Along with docs, carry clarity, confidence, composure.
