I am planning to apply to Stanford GSB and HBS during the R1 next year and I would like to visit both schools to sit in class, talk to students, see the campus, etc. to a) decide which school suits me better if I get invited by both and b) strengthen my essays.
Stanford's event registration system only shows events up to 31 of March and HBS' does not show anything at all for the next year. As I have to fly to the US from Europe, I have to carefully plan the visit in regard to the visa and other travel arrangements and unfortunately I don't think I will be able to travel in March because of my passport expiry.
Maybe, someone can advise me, based on previous experience, whether these two schools should normally offer visiting opportunities in April or May?

I visit all the Stanford GSB campus all the time and I see prospective students visiting year round. It might be that they just haven't organized the spring quarter class visits yet. The GSB academic calendar:

shows that classes will be in schedule when you plan to visit. So I'd just email or call them (after they return from holiday break) to ask them. The person in charge of scheduling is Madison Kawakami, Admissions Coordinator
You might also reach out to officers of one of the student clubs

to connect with more students in your interest area.

As for HBS, like the GSB, they are likely to be able to accomodate you informally if there are no formal sessions (which I doubt -- when I was there, we had stuff going on thru the beginning of May).

You will be lucky to see students in a less stressed mode (more or less) during that time of year. You'll really get a sense of the best of what the schools have to offer.
