Waiting for results

Question

Hi,

I have applied to one of the B-schools and waiting for results. During the interview, I was told that the results will be out in 2 weeks and its been 2 days plus 2 weeks and I still haven't received an email from the school, neither acceptance nor rejection. What does this mean?

Should I send a follow-up email to figure out my application status ? If yes, what can the email contain ?

Hey Pras,
If they told you it was two weeks and now its more you can for sure write them and ask them what is going on and tell them you are very excited about the school. No problem.

I am put on wait list, got the confirmation yesterday. What do I do next ? I would like to inform the school that I would like to be active on wait list and can do things that will improve my chances of admission.

Okay!
So there's lots you can do. The main two things are:
1. Extra essay
2. Extra recommendation.

The extra essay is relevant if you have some new things to tell the AdCom. These need to be more than just "I love your school", but rather CONCRETE achievements that you have made since your application so a higher test score, or a new achievement, or promotion or new activities in volunteer work, or new responsibilities at work. These are all great things.

For the extra recommendation, which you can do as well, do this only if you have someone who can give a NEW angle on your application. You don't want to send in something just because you can, but because it can help you!
