Want some advice on Knewton vs MGMAT

Hello everyone,

I am just starting off my preparation...going through the GMAT club grammar book and working on the MGMAT Foundations of Math.

I would appreciate some advice on Knewton vs MGMAT online courses.

I have been considering MGMAT but am tempted by the Knewton offer - $299 for entire course with GMAT club tests for a year.

I need to get a very high score on the GMAT - 750+ (unfortunately part of the over-represented Indian engineer population).

From the reviews I have been reading, 
Pros of Knewton:

1. Good strategies for Verbal 
2. Questions similar to OG
3. Great instructors

Cons:

1. CATs not representative 
2. Quant too easy 
3. Not enough hard questions

Pros of MGMAT

1. Great material - I do have all of them 
2. Great Quant & SC 
3. Good reviews

Cons of MGMAT

1. Expensive 
2. Strategies for RC & CR slow you down
3. Value addition in Quant from the course is not clear

I had the following questions:

1. After the course is over, are you still allowed to send in questions and clarifications? 
I know you cant do this in MGMAT - except through the forums.

2. Would someone be able to shed any light on the value addition in the classes for quant in MGMAT?

I am considering using Knewton+ MGMAT:
Knewton: Additional OG type practice + access to instructors for clarifications + Verbal strategies(supplement with Powerscore CR /MGMAT SC) 
MGMAT: Quant + SC books, CATs, harder questions

Supplement these with some Veritas and Jeff Sackmann sets.

I would really appreciate some feedback on this.

Not sure how much time you have but one thought is that Knewton provides a money back guarantee, so you could start there and if that does not work, get your money back, and switch to MGMAT (this assumes you have time).

The other question - are you looking to take both classes online or would you take the MGMAT in person?

I am planning to take the GMAT in April/May 2011- I do have some time. The classes will have to be online as I am based in India. I am seriously looking at Knewton supplemented with MGMAT Quant books. In this context, some information on the strategies provided by MGMAT in Quant on their classes vis-a-vis their books and whether Knewton's course for a year, includes any support from instructors would be very helpful. Thanks again and wanted to just add that this forum has been very helpful. Just wish we had had something like this many years ago when I wrote the GRE. (Hope I got my tenses right!!)

Personally, I didn't sign up for any prep classes but I did do the trial for Knewton and saw the interface and everything and I'd just get the Knewton course and the MGMAT books - Knewton's method of teaching really impressed me and I think you get the same value in terms of instructor's input from both the companies but Knewton's cheaper. If you have the MGMAT Guides + Knewton Instruction and resources I think you have a good chance. Did you take their diagnostic yet? If you get a 700 or more on that, then that could be good for you, as bb mentioned the money back.
