I am about 3 weeks into my GMAT preparation. Having covered the concepts I now want to educate myself about the strategies helpful for effective time management. So request fellow members to suggest the best reference book/website/online class for RC and CR.

Hi IpshitaSaha,

Welcome to GMATClub!

I feel RC99 by Aristotle is one of the best books for RC.
For CR, you might want to try the following link
https://gmatclub.com/forum/the-most-com ... 40375.html

I would suggest doing official questions for RC also.

Hope that helps you, Happy studying!

Hi IpshitaSaha,

Since you've been studying for a few weeks now, have you taken a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test yet? If you have, then how did you score (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores?)? If you have not, then you really should take one soon (you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com - and they come with some additional practice materials). That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi IpshitaSaha,

I would say the best way to identofy the best resource is by going through the reviews. Identify the ones you feel are good and then ask for a free trial of the course. This would help you get the course that fulfills your needs.

Apart from this, make sure that you solve questions from the OG and the Verbal Review books.

Happy to help!!!

It is better to practice OG questions first than go for other sources. :-)

Hi shaonkarim,

In addition to advice regarding resources, would you like some general advice on how to improve your RC and CR skills?

Hi shaonkarim,

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs/mocks (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
