What we need to find out:
Compare price between March and MayOption 1 - Gives us a comparison between price in the month of March and April. It says nothing about May hence it will not be sufficient to answer (Alone Not sufficient)
Option 2 - Gives us a comparison between April and May, however in this option we don't have any information about March. So clearly alone it is not sufficient to answer (Alone Not Sufficient)
However, if we take both the options together, we can clearly set up a relation between March and May:
Let the price we have in May be 100X
in April it will be 120X
In March it will be 0.8*120X=96x
So Price in March was less than May
[Please Note we are not required to do this calculation. I just did so that it can be easy to understand]
