What we need to find out: Compare price between March and May

Option 1 - Gives us a comparison between price in the month of March and April. It says nothing about May hence it will not be sufficient to answer (Alone Not sufficient)

Option 2 - Gives us a comparison between April and May, however in this option we don't have any information about March. So clearly alone it is not sufficient to answer (Alone Not Sufficient)

However, if we take both the options together, we can clearly set up a relation between March and May:

Let the price we have in May be 100X
in April it will be 120X
In March it will be 0.8*120X=96x
So Price in March was less than May

[Please Note we are not required to do this calculation. I just did so that it can be easy to understand]

hii, please clear my doubt that march price = .96m, but here m can be integer or fraction then how should we be confirmed that march price would be greater than may price. Am i missing something?
ManifestDreamMBA
Let prices in April be a and May be m

price of a certain stereo in March greater than its price in May?

S1
The price of the stereo in March was 80 percent of its price in April.
March price = 0.8a
No info on May price
Insufficient

S2
The price of the stereo in April was 120 percent of its price in May
a=1.2m
No info on March price
Insufficient

Combined, we have
March price = 0.8a = 0.8*1.2m = 0.96m
Sufficient
