Official Explanation

1. Consider each of the following statements. Does the information in the three sources support the inference as stated?

Explanation

Statement 1:
The programming director refers to himself as “new here,” and the marketing manager begins with a reference to past practices at the station.

Answer: Yes

Statement 2: The marketing manager indicates that it is difficult to find sponsors for shows on the arts, but neither the marketing manager nor the programming director refer to the station producing its own content. It is impossible, therefore, to know whether the station’s budget will cover producing shows on the arts.

Answer: No

Statement 3: The marketing manager states that sponsors will more easily support shows with large audiences, and she goes on to suggest that the reality shows appeal to a wider audience.

Answer: Yes

Official Explanation

2. Consider each of the following statements. Does the information in the three sources support the inference as stated?

Explanation

Statement 1: The programming director only speaks of urban viewers to say that he does not believe that they are the only ones interested in the arts. He voices no opinion about their preference for reality shows or ballets.

Answer: No

Statement 2: Although the programming director disagrees with the marketing manager’s point of view, he does not claim that there is research to dispute the marketer’s position. He challenges the position and asks the marketing manager to provide evidence to support her position.

Answer: No

"There was a time when our lineup did include the more “refined” shows you’re looking for, but frankly, they didn’t draw the numbers we need."

For Q1 part 1 you are citing this as evidence that Marketing manager was present before Programming Director. This line doesn't indicate so. How can you say that the MM actually lived that time? It might be possible that he know this fact and data from the past records on archive or he might have heard about it from some sources? Also the Question statement for 1 doesn't say 'MM MAY be working here before PM' then it could have been YES. But we can't be sure whether MM is working before PM.

What if i say in WW2 there were millions of people died...? According to you i was there at WW2 time?

Refer to the email from Marketing Manager to Programming Manager: "There was a time when our lineup did include the more “refined” shows you’re looking for, but frankly, they didn’t draw the numbers we need."
This clearly reflects that the Marketing Manager is associated with the company earlier than the Programming Director. If this is not true, than the claim made by Marketing Manager about the old time will be false.
