E-mail from Programming Director of Television Arts Network to Marketing Manager
We need to have a conversation about our mission and our vision for the enterprise. What is it we are committed to doing? I know I’m new here, but I’m bothered by what I see. We have the word “arts” in our name, but I see no sign of the arts in our program lineup. We’re heavy with reality shows, many of them trite, and some of them coarse. Is this the image we want the public to have of our brand?

could anybody explain why option 1 of question1 is yes. it is mentioned that the programming director is new here, however that doesnt imply marketing manager is working here before than the programming director

Refer to the email from Marketing Manager to Programming Manager: "There was a time when our lineup did include the more “refined” shows you’re looking for, but frankly, they didn’t draw the numbers we need."
This clearly reflects that the Marketing Manager is associated with the company earlier than the Programming Director. If this is not true, than the claim made by Marketing Manager about the old time will be false.
