Several Teachers thought that Jimmy had cheated on the exam

--> shouldn;t just cheated work here

I think that ancient people believed in many Gods.

--> It also have two things think -- present and believd past... so shouldn't there be a usage of perfect tense, if I go by the definition of Perfect tense.
