1) Basic demographic info: 24, Male, Indian

2) Educational Background: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 7.88 CGPA (~70.31% / B grade), Currently working and have 2.5+ years of experience in Building Automation industry. GMAT 480 :( (Q37 V20), IELTS 7.5 overall.

3) Work experience: Sr. Design Engineer at Johnson Controls with 2.5+ years of work experience. Joined as a Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) and was promoted twice thereon.

4) Extracurriculars:
During graduation: Inauguration committee member (6 months), Cultural committee member (6 months).
Others: Participated in Tree plantation, Clean India mission & Paani Foundation. Black Belt in Karate and National level gold medal winner.

5) Short/Long term goals: Want to pursue MBA in Business Analytics from Brock University (Goodman School of Business, Canada) and thereby transition into analytics role. I wish to use those analytical skills to be an expert in that field and teach others as well.

6) Schools: Brock University (Goodman School of Business) & University of Alberta (Alberta School of Business).

7) Queries: With this profile what would be my chances of getting into Brock (MBA-ISP program which does not require GMAT) & Alberta (which requires GMAT).

First, I would like to say you have a very interesting profile, and you seem quite young to pursue an MBA. In terms of relevant work experience, Alberta's average experience for MBA is around six years, and the average GMAT is around 550+. At the same time, there is no specific requirement in both GMAT and Work experience for Brock, but more work experience is favored. Your overall GPA is ok, and I would recommend backing it up with some substantial examples of leadership, decision-making, and analytical skills in your work tenure.

Schools like Alberta prefers Candidates who demonstrate strong leadership qualities, have unique backgrounds, work experience, and the initiative and motivation to succeed in academic and professional pursuits. Regarding your ECAs, I would suggest adding some and elaborating on the challenges faced, the leadership roles played, the impact generated, and a little bit about the overall experience. A strong overall profile is a prerequisite for a top B-school, so I recommend adding any other certified courses and certifications to your profile to gain additional points.

All in all, you have a decent profile for Brock. However, it would help if you try linking your work experience, ECAs, and post-MBA goals by connecting dots between them in your school essays to mesmerize the adcom! Moreover, Alberta would be a stretch; your work experience is less than the average required for business school; I suggest gaining more work experience, taking good leadership roles, and applying in upcoming years with a more stellar GMAT. Thank you for sharing your profile. On the surface, your profile appears to be in good shape. To begin with, you have a good GPA and a decent GMAT score for the schools you have selected.

On the work front, your work experience seems interesting. I can see elements of huge impact, leadership, and initiatives in your experience. Leading the team to show the impact by reducing facility costs demonstrates your personality as a high-performance individual and your commitment to your organization. Moreover, your work experience as a self-employed architect is equally impressive. AdComs would be interested in learning about your journey, and you will need to show what you will bring to the table. Everything is determined by how you present it. Overall, you have good work experience; you only need to explain it compellingly, which is where most applicants fail.

Regarding your ECs, they will help provide diversity in your profile, and I especially liked your interest in music. Try to highlight this and how it contributes to your personal growth. Discuss your volunteer experience and the organization for which you volunteered. You may share the story of how these experiences shaped your personality.

Your post-MBA goals make sense. There are just a few people who seem to have obvious, distinct reasons for seeking an MBA, and you appear to be one of them. (which NUS looks for in its applicants) Make sure you specify how a particular school will assist in filling the gaps in your profile and guide you to your goals. Make sure your profile and vision have a global perspective.

Overall you have a good profile and a chance at top business school. You may add Haas, USC Marshal, and Judge to your list as well. What's going to matter most about your application is how you link experiential dots and make a great narrative. If you want to target R2, I nudge you to start working on your applications asap. Long Term: I want to build a multifaceted real estate development company that contributes to smart cities by combining sustainable and regenerative development with research in IEQ (Indoor Environmental Quality).

Hello everyone!
I’m planning for the 2025 intake, got 585 Gmat FE, planning for MS Finance - LSE, LBS and MBA - Imperial, Oxford, and Cambridge.
1) Education - CGPA(undergrad)-9.7 from H.R. College of Commerce (Mumbai University) also cleared 2 levels of CFA and I am planning to give 3rd level in Feb-25
2) Work ex- Currently, 4 Years and will be 5 years by the time I start my course next year (2 years with Deutsche Bank in the middle office and 3 years of experience in boutique front office Investment Banking working on live deals and fund-raises)
What is the possibility to get into these colleges in R1?
I am done with GMAT because my score is not improving so wanted to know, do I have a chance at any of the above colleges?
