Hey, thanks for your response! I know i should've done so .. but was too excited about my performance on the original GMATprep CATs..
you say gmat cats are the best indicator - thats what i read everywhere.. i scored 660 + 700 on them, so with a bit more practice i expect a score ~ 700
do you think thats a realistic view?

thanks for the hint with powerprep SW - ill do so! gmat club tests are already added to "todo-list"!

.. you mention paper gmac tests - i assume you are talking bout the questions out of the official script ? [roundabout 800 questions] - i've alrdy finished half of them.. not comparable to Kaplan questions imho, quite easy, nevertheless i'll do the rest of them until exam day!

Just search gmat paper tests & you will find them. They are quite good for additional verbal practice. They have a little price on gmac website but some people also found them free on the web.

Can someone else perhaps comment on my prospective performance? Still thinking about the value of the 2 GMATprep CATs.. if they are really such a good indicator i'd be happy with my current status. As alrdy mentioned i got the results above + not much preptime left due to high workload though test is in approx 8 weeks.

I think, based on your scores, if you took the test tomorrow you'd be likely to score in the high 600s. To be honest, I'm worried about what will happen over the next 8 weeks. If you're not going to study, your skills may grow rusty. If you can take any other practice test and score well on it, you might consider paying the $50 to change your test date and move it up, so you can take it now, while you're still hot.

Hey,

thanks for your post. Negotiations with my employer led to an additional week for prep directly before the gmat, therefore i have some days left facing the final phase of exam prep..
nevertheless i try to keep in shape by taking the gmatclub tests on the weekends! the final prep will contain the MGMAT CAT and as well as retakes of KAPLAN & GMATPREP CATs..

Think with Kaplan results of averaged 600 you can't estimate to score ~ 700 on the actual GMAT.

Estimation should be ~ 600!

GMAT prep CATs are the best indicators of actual GMAT scores but they only indicate range. If you get 700 on both, I would expect anywhere from 620 to 740 though most people will lie in the range of 620 - 680. (just rough figures)
So if I were aiming for >700, I would work till I reach 750 level in GMAT prep CATs. Also most test providers offer a free CAT (with solutions) on their websites. Those are a great opportunity to learn from many different people and their strategies in the limited time you have.

yesterday:

kaplan CD-cat 3 ... 580 points :)))) gonna ignore kaplan from this point-of-time .. quant was quite easy, did almost 20questions in a row correct ... nevertheless scored 36!?! -.-
i didn't seriously attack the verbal part, did 10+x questions in beginning right, then started guessing due to unmotiviation and ended up in a V33
