Nothing here. I think what they meant by 'Monday updates' is that if they are going to let you know of a status change, they'll do it on Mondays, as opposed to a regular Monday email saying 'still WL'd'.

Nothing I've heard. Odd considering that they specifically said in their last WL email about how decisions would be released on Mondays.

"All waitlist candidates who do not ask to be removed from the list will be reconsidered for admission on an ongoing basis with decisions being released every Monday beginning Monday 6 April, 2009 and ending no later than Monday, 27 July, 2009. Decisions include: admit waitlist, and deny waitlist. No change in your letter means you are still on the waitlist."

I'm pretty much not expecting to hear anything until May when R3 decisions come out. If I'm still not admitted at that point I'm likely going to start 'finalizing' Duke, e.g. putting my apt deposit down and so forth.

For R1 and R2 waitlisters, today wasn't our day. They told us after R2 that we'd be re-evaluated every Monday until July 27 unless we heard otherwise. Today was just the notification day for R3. I guess they just felt like updating all of us.

I assume no R1 or R2 waitlisters got cut today?

It could simply mean they had a higher than anticipated response to offers which forced them to expand the class size. Thus nothing useful for us :|

I've found it interesting because schools have been emphasizing how the economic environment this year would create uncertainty in the yield. For awhile I thought that was good news for the waitlist, but instead it seems it's gone the other direction.

You could be right though and tomorrow will be a big day. But who knows?
