Wharton EMBA 2026-2027: EA 154 But Quant 9 - Test Again?
Should you be cheering if you scored 154-156 or higher on your Executive Assessment exam and plan to apply to the Wharton Executive MBA Program? Unfortunately, maybe not. Scoring 154 or higher on the Executive Assessment might feel like cause for celebration if you’re eyeing Wharton’s Executive MBA program—but hold the confetti. The real story is more nuanced.
For the 2024–2025 admissions cycle, Wharton’s average EA score for matriculating EMBA students was 156. Hitting that ballpark range is helpful, but it’s not the whole picture. What really determines whether your score is “good enough” is your quantitative performance. Wharton EMBA is a quantitatively intense program, and the admissions committee scrutinizes your quant score—and to a lesser extent, Integrated Reasoning—to gauge whether you can handle the workload. A quant score of 10 is considered borderline. A quant score of 9? That can put your application at real risk, even if your total score looks competitive.
So what if your overall score was between 154 and 156, but your quant score was less than 10? Should you retake the Executive Assessment to improve your score? You may not want to hear this, but in most cases, yes.
We at
MBA Admit.com work with a large number of EMBA applicants, and we review applications from Executive MBA applicants who were rejected when applying on their own. We have seen a clear pattern: a low quant score is sometimes the culprit. So, if you have a low quant score, retake the EA and raise it if you can.
But what if you’ve hit a wall and your score won’t budge much? There’s still hope. Look out for our short video about how to override a low EA score to achieve EMBA admissions success.
