Wharton EMBA: What EA Score is Good Enough 2026-2027, 156?
From an admissions-odds perspective, Wharton — along with MIT — has one of the most competitive Executive MBA programs because many applicants target it as their first choice. Given the difficulty in gaining admission, what Executive Assessment (EA) score is good enough for Wharton’s Executive MBA Program? Wharton is known to be very picky, so EMBA candidates are often very concerned. Let's explore what EA score is good enough.
HistoryIn its first year of accepting the EA exam, Wharton representatives told many candidates that a score of 150 was fine, with a quant score of at least 10. By the very next year, they amended that, saying they wanted to see a score of 160 or higher. THANKFULLY, by year three, they had lowered that desired score, and during the 2024-2025 admissions cycle, Wharton’s average EA score for matriculating students was 156. That is the most recent average score Wharton has released. It is reasonable to use that average of 156 to guide your target score.
Range of ScoresHappily, however, 156 is just an AVERAGE. That means many successful applicants have EA scores below 156. We at
MBA Admit.com work with large numbers of EMBA applicants. We have seen that when a candidate puts together an outstanding application (essays and recommendations) and has strong credentials, a score of 152 with a quant score of 11 or higher is usually fine for the Wharton EMBA Program. When the Wharton admissions committee finds a candidate truly compelling based on their written application and interview, it has accepted a score as low as 146 with a quant score of 9.
The message is clear: Your application isn’t doomed just because your EA score isn’t sky‐high. Wharton evaluates the whole person, not just a number. Still, a higher score strengthens your hand, so
intentional, focused preparation remains essential.
