well well well... what can I say.
I was a little bummed after my first try where I messed up the quant section (see scores above) so I registered again and retook it yesterday.
After another four weeks of feeling bad about not studying for the damn thing I went to the test center in London and scored a whopping 10 points better than before: 730.
The good news is that I bumbed up the quant section from 67%ile to 90%ile. But then I got sloppy -so sloppy that even during the test I thought to myself "why am I being so sloppy?"... I guess I didn't care enough- to drop from a cool 49 verbal (99%ile) to a not-so-cool 40 (90%ile). Ah well. At least I didn't manage to
lower my total score.
Was it worth the extra hassle and money? Who knows.
How did I do it? Timing and timing only.
1. Give each question a fair shot but timeox every single one: guess the ones that you know you're not going to get right and move on- you can still easily score in the 700 region.
2. Don't be sloppy, go full steam through the whole thing.
Oh, by the way, I got 5.5 for the AWA in my last test.... people don't seem to talk about that score at all, what's the reason for that?
One other thing- I have a stack of GMAT books lying around now... anyone want to buy them in the London area? Comes with a free pat on the back and words of wisdom from me.
