Hey there fellow members,
2 years ago I gave the GMAT and I scored 530 without any preparation. Unfortunately I cannot remember what my math score was, but my verbal score was definitely in the low 20s.
In late summer I decided I will take the GMAT again. I have been studying for a few months now and went through the
MGMAT guides. After going through the Quant guides I scored a 580 (Q 42, V29). Later on I also read the Verbal books and took 2 another CATs. I scored a 580 (Q36, V33) and a 620 (Q40, V35).
Here is the thing: I am definitely improving my Verbal skills and I know that I can raise my V score to 40. However, I am having trouble raising my math score. I am not bad in math. In fact, I was familiar with most of what was in the
MGMAT quant guides. My problem is that I have difficulties applying the right concepts. For instance, when I read a problem I am not sure how to attack it (I would easily solve all problems if I had someone over my shoulder telling me each step).
I desperately need some tips from someone who used to have the same problem and managed to raise his/her Quant score.
Thank you!
G
