More on work experience: After graduation, I joined a sales rotational program at a company that provides finance ratings. I completed the program last year and have been in my permanent role since then. However, I'm currently in a learning and development phase, mainly helping with email outreach, cold calling, analyzing client data to inform sales strategy, and delivering product demos to clients. I expect to start managing my own accounts and earning commission next year.
Thanks for posting. You have a good profile, but you must focus on addressing these areas first:
- GRE Score: While your GRE scores are not necessarily low, aiming for higher scores, especially in Quant, could help make your application more competitive for top business schools. Crossing the 325 level will help your candidature.
- Work Experience Duration: Your work experience will be 3 years upon admission, which is on the lower end for many top MBA programs. To strengthen your application, consider focusing on highlighting your accomplishments, impact, and leadership experiences during your tenure. Do you think you can show enough career progression through your work so far?
- Clarity on Post-MBA Goals: Make sure to articulate your short-term and long-term post-MBA goals clearly and demonstrate how an MBA from your target schools will help you achieve them. This will help show your motivation for pursuing an MBA and how the programs align with your aspirations. Do you want to continue in business sales? Pivot to something else? How is your work experience relevant to those?
