Hi,

I am giving a brief profile of mine. I would be applying for my Phd program in US once I have completed my MBA from Virginia Tech. I had got an admission into the MBA program at Virginia Tech this fall and would be joining it.

Gmat score:-700 (Verbal : 34 with 72%, Quants: 51 with 99%, AWA: 5.5 with 90 %)
Toefl:287
Professional Work experience:- 3 years with Cognizant Technology Solutions - worked with clients AT&T,J.P.Morgan Chase and Credit Suisse
Internship Exp :- 5 months with Mistral Software
Undergrad: Electronics and Telecomm from RV College of Engineering (aggr: 77 %)

Programming Languages: - C,C++,Unix,Java,SQL,MSOffice.

Academic Credentials:
1)Presented a paper on "ATM Networks" at college.
2)Won a paper presentation contest on "Diffie hellmann algorithm" in an event organized by Cisco Systems
3)Awarded Graduate Assistantship award at Virginia Tech, MBA
4)Awarded International Fellowship Award at Baylor University - also received an MBA admit from this place.
5)Awarded Graduate Assistantship award from State University of New York, Binghamton - also received an MBA admit from this place.
6)Awarded a merit-based scholarship from Vanderbilt University - also received an MBA admit from this place.
7)Awarded a merit-based scholarship from University of Rochester - also received an MBA admit from this place.
8)Pre-screened for the Dean's scholarship award from University of California - Irvine.
9)Received an MBA admit from Schulich School of Business, Canada.

Major publications:- Nil
Research :- Nil

Based on this profile till date, could anyone suggest me a prospective list of universities for my Phd in Finance after I finish my MBA at Virginia Tech. I intend to have a good GPA during my graduation for the MBA program. What other advise would you give me in improving my profile for a Phd program during my 2 years of MBA. I wish to thank you in advance for your time and cooperation.

Do a case writing assignment with some Prof during your MBA. Also may be a research assistant position. The question in your SOP may be why PhD after MBA ? so think about that.
