Hi there, I recently took GMAT and got 680 (q50v31).
I am 25 yo South Korean and from one of the top 5 universities in South Korea, majored in Business Administration. My GPA is under top 10% of whole students.
I got 4 years of full scholarship for tuition fee when entering uni, another scholarship from uni for studying abroad as an exchange student, plus 2 scholarships from Samsung for tutoring camps for middle school students in need.
I have done 2 exchange semesters, one in Mexico, and one in Germany.
I spent 2 years (exactly 21 months) in the U.S. military as logistic specialist and interpreter(English-Korean).
I was also an interpreter on live TV sport broadcasting in major broadcasting company (once though).
I am trying to apply for MiM degree for top French schools, including HEC Paris, Essec, and ESCP
I am wondering if my profile would be competitive among the candidates for those top 3 universities, especially for HEC, as I am aware that my GMAT and GPA aren't that high enough to be significant.
Thank you!
Well hello there!
I think you can give the MiM programs a shot and have a decent chance at them. In general they are somewhat less competitive than MBAs, and the good news is that you have some very interesting experiences which can make up for your lack in the GMAT and GPA. Of course you still have a bit of time, so you may want to try and improve that GMAT if possible....
But that, plus your impressive amount of international experience, and your two years in the military, it all has a lot of potential to be very interesting.
I hope this helps you out!
Best,
JF
