I have read the financial times for a while now and I think the language is perfect for learning and contains a lot of unfamiliar words which enhances ones vocabulary. However, if it tastes it costs. Furthermore, when you say scientific texts what do you have in mind particularly because I have been reading Scientific American for about 4-5 months now and I truthfully think I have outgrown the Scientific American articles because I seem to find them kind of easy now.

Best regards,

I agree! Scientific American is really not that great. I find that the level of reporting can be for a much larger audience, which means the level of sophistication is not very high. For science writing, I would recommend reading MIT Technology Review, Science Magazine, and the science section of The Economist online tend to be written at a higher level.

Hope this helps! :)
