Looks like you are targeting So Cal schools? I went to UCR, but am from Northern California. If you plan on taking a class, I am taking Veritas, which is pretty good (at least in Nor Cal). I started a lot lower than you at 480 and subsequently improved to 540 on my practice test. Hopefully, I can continue improving on my skills. What do you want to do outside of communications? Good luck!

thanks for the advice!

I just moved to SoCal (personal reasons) and am actually working at the Graziadio Business School at Pepperdine University. Free tuition so it's my no-brainer first choice.

I've been really thinking about it over the past few days and I think I'd really like to merge my 2 passions (communications and academia) and go into academic editing, specifically for business journals.

I'm about halfway there as the associate editor for Pepperdine's business journal (semi-academic but geared towards business practitioners) so I think it's a good career path for me. At least, that's what I'm going to put on my application!

I took the GMAT prep tests a couple months ago when I started, got around a 540. I studied pretty hardcore for those 2, 2 and 1/2 months and retook the practice tests, got a 680 and 690.

I didn't really remember any of the questions so I would suggest retaking it right before you take the real thing.

The thing about the math is to remember that there is no calculus, nothing tough. Its all little tricks and being organized in your thought process.

Anyways, a mid 700's is gonna be tough, you're gonna have to put in more hrs I think, and start asap.
