What do YOU want to ask the GMAC

Question

Folks,

GMATClub will be attending the GMAC conference this year as we attended the conference in 2007 and 2009. See the below threads for the write ups:

We'd like to field your comments/questions to ask the folks from the GMAC. Please post what you'd like us to follow up on (do not PM me, it is not practical for me to aggregate from PMs and reply to people). I will aggregate the requests and see what I can come up with.

The conference is Sept 15th in NYC. I will be attending on behalf of GMATClub and will provide a similar write up and scans of the documents (see 2009 link above).

My question is around GMAT Prep functionality and improving that (save score and show more detailed diagnostics) but I think you already know that.

Also, would like to get a preview of what OG 13 will include and how different it will be.

Although the GMAT is now in my rearview mirror (thank goodness), I would like to know if GMAC has an idea of how the Integrated Reasoning section will be evaluated as part of the overall score, and whether they believe it will carry more weight towards an individual's admissions probability than the AWA that it is replacing (my instinct says it will because it's got significant basis in quant skills).

I share bb's interest in the OG 13, as well as the third edition for the OG Verbal and OG Quant.

I would like to see more questions overall in all three products, as well as a higher concentration of upper-level questions. Although highly unlikely, it would also be great to see a separate collection of 700-plus problems available.

I agree. A number of people felt that the Quant OG was weaker and not very representative of the GMAT.

I guess one more question - would GMAC consider licensing previous tests. If not, then why not? LSAT does that fully and I like their policy (though they do not provide explanations, just correct/incorrect answers).

Another issue would is that there are simply not enough difficult verbal questions available. And as you mentioned, bb, the OG Quant suffered from this. But the OG Verbal was particularly guilty of this charge. This could be addressed with the newer editions.

And bb: your comment about licensing is interesting, but I don't fully understand this issue (due to my ignorance of such things). Why do you approve of this policy? Just curious.

One question/concern for GMAC: Is it possible for the next version of GMATPrep to NOT include ANY questions from current OG? For instance, although I only saw 1-2 repeat questions (from OG) total in my GMATPrep tests, but I know people who saw multiple repeats from OG. So it would be nice, if the next versions of GMATPrep and OG are mutually exclusive.
