I just took my first gmat exam and I got 515 with all three sections around 74-76 percentile.
I studied only a week so I am kinda new to gmat. How does the scoring work and does the official result tell me what types of q I got wrong?

The percentile of a score indicates how your score compares with the scores of GMAT test-takers in general.
For example, if a score is a 74th percentile score, it is higher than the score of 74 percent of test-takers.
Regarding the score report, it does indicate which types of questions you answered incorrectly and correctly, though not with great specificity, indicating only what broad categories the questions are in.

Regarding your second queston, GMAC does provide a score report that has some general information regarding your score, but you do not get the opportunity to see the questions from the exam. Here is an example of the score report you will receive.
