We drove from New York City to Texas. On the first day, we drove one-fourth of the distance. On the second day, we drove one-third of what remained, and on the third day, we drove one-half of what remained. What fraction of the trip have we completed?

Let the total distance be 12

Distance traveled on the first day = 3 , distance remaining = 9
Distance traveled on the second day = 3 , distance remaining = 6
Distance traveled on the third day = 3 , distance remaining = 3

So, In three days he has traveled \(\frac{9}{12} = \frac{3}{4}\) of the total distance...
