Currently working as a consultant in a major NA city, have very strong extracurriculars, job exp., average volunteering, and my GMAT is coming up soon but scoring in lower-mid 700s, and I realize this may not be the career for me, and was hoping to get my MBA.

Some individuals from my firm have placed at some strong schools (i.e. MIT, Kellogg, Haas, Fuqua, YSOM) but they had more experience, are there any good schools (top 20) I have a shot for?

Hi dawncheadle with the information provided, yes, I definitely feel it's possible if you have at least 2 years of work experience at the time you apply. When you say lower-mid 700s do you mean 700-710 or like 715-730? Either way it seems possible but the latter more so of course. Not sure about HBS exactly but top 20 and probably Fuqua seems plausible given consulting, ECs, volunteering, and I imagine you are female.

The big thing I don't know is how your CV looks - do you have a track record of results and the value you have added to the company? For the recommendations, do you have solid anecdotes your recommenders can write about? Have they observed you doing leadership shiz? The qualitative angle is unknown but from what you have written top 20 seems within reach.
