I was a bit anxious when I decided to come to China a year ago from sunny Southern California to join the Tsinghua 2016 Global MBA program. I wanted a challenge and to experience something new and from the information that I've gathered on the internet, Tsinghua is one of the best platforms that will allow me to both have an amazing experience and a great platform to launch into whatever I decided to do after the MBA program. I came to Tsinghua anticipating to gain a lot out of the program in terms of resources, connections, and learning. What I have gained after a year, however, was much greater than I could have ever anticipated.
Throughout the first year at the GMBA program, I not only get to participate in an incredible range of interesting activities, mostly importantly, I got to work with excellent people all around the world and from within China. I believe the GMBA program is truly unique in that the program immerses you into the China culture and allows to work with the cream of the crop people from China. The best way to gain insight into how a country works is by actually working with its best people on a equal basis and within a team. Small groups are mixed with both foreign and Chinese students and they last for an entire semester. This way, you truly get to understand how differently people think and work and can learn great deal from them.
What I learned the most after a year in Tsinghua is not doubt the most valuable lesson, the way that excellent people in China think and work.
