There is a popular myth among INSEAD aspirants. Most of us believe that considerable international exposure is a must to make it into this elite b-school. Infact, when I was applying to INSEAD, many of my peers discouraged me citing that I had no international exposure. I have always lived and worked in India and still, I could get into INSEAD. This stands in testimony to the fact that international exposure is not a prerequisite for getting into this elite b-school. Then, what does INSEAD look for?
INSEAD looks for the following 4 factors in prospective candidates- 1. Ability to Contribute 2. Academic Capability 3. International Motivation 4. Leadership Potential
For the detailed article, refer to the link of the article at the end. Here, we will talk about international motivation briefly-
INSEAD is one of the only schools which can boast of participants from 90+ nationality in its MBA program. Hence, it is essential for INSEAD aspirants to be the right fit for this global culture. Working in a multi-national company, working with teams from different geography, ability to speak in multiple languages, travel outside home country etc can very well be used to demonstrate international motivation. It is interesting to note that INSEAD is looking for international motivation and not international exposure.
