What is the interest rate on a savings account?
(1) The saver collected $42 in simple interest over several months.
(2) There was $1,680 in the account initially.
Target question: What is the interest rate on a savings account? When I scan the two statements, they both feel insufficient, so I’m going to head straight to……
Statements 1 and 2 combined The correct answer here is E, since statement one doesn't specify the EXACT time period elapsed in order to get $42 in interest.
For example, if the initial investment is $1,680 and it took
12 months to receive $42 in interest, then the interest rate will be different from the interest rate we'd get if it took
240 months to receive $42 in interest.
