let L and B be the length and width of this rectangle, respectively. Diagonal of this rectangle = √(L^2 + B^2)
So we need to have L^2 + B^2
(1) Area = L*B = 16. But this won't help us in getting L^2 + B^2. So insufficient.
(2) Perimeter = 2*(L+B) = 16 or L+B = 8. But this also won't help us in getting L^2 + B^2. So insufficient.
Combining the two statements, we can use this formula:
(L+B)^2 = L^2 + B^2 + 2*L*B or
8^2 = L^2 + B^2 + 2*16 or
L^2 + B^2 = 32.
We can thus find the diagonal. Sufficient.
Hence C answer
