We know that there are five numbers. Median will be the middle number when numbers are arranged in the ascending order i.e. the third number.
(1) The three smallest numbers are 10, 12, and 15.
In the first statement, we get to know that about value of smallest 3 numbers. Since 15 is the third smallest, that is exactly what we are looking for - (1) is sufficient.
(2) The largest number is 20.
We only know the largest number and nothing about the middle number. Thus, (2) is insufficient.
Option A
(1) The three smallest numbers are 10, 12, and 15.
