The divisibility test for 9 is that the sum of digits should be divisible by 9.
The sum of digits is 2 + 7 + 4 + 5 + 2 = 20. To make this divisible by 9, the smallest number to be added = 7

2+7+4+5+2 =20, which is not divisible by 9, so we need to add 7 with 20 to make it 27, which will be divisible by 9.
Another easy way to solve it is to see that 27 & 45 are both divisible by 9, but the last digit 2 isn't. So, we need to add 7 with 2 to make it 9, which will obviously be divisible by 9. (C)
