What is the total number of employees in the personnel and data processing divisions of Company S ?
(1) The number of employees in the data processing division is 3 more than twice the number of employees in the personnel division.

why is it E?
Lets say the number of employees in the personell division is P and the number of employees in the data processing division is D.
If you convert statement 1 into an equation it is: D-3=2P
=> Statement 1 is not sufficient
Statement 2 says D=15
=> Statement 2 is not sufficient
Combined: D=15 and D-3=2P, so you can calculate the total number of employees in either and in both divisions
So Id say it is C.
