I'm happy to respond. :-)

I don't know the source, but this is a particularly easy question. Furthermore, I don't think it is a question of high quality.

The details of the prompt are irrelevant: to answer the prompt question, we simply need the value of p.

Statement #1: \(p^2 – 5p + 4 = 0\)
This quadratic is not a perfect square, so it has two solutions. Two values for p will not determine a unique answer to the prompt. This statement, alone and by itself, is not sufficient.

Statement #2: The value of (1/p)+(2/3) is –2
In other words,
\(\frac{1}{p} + \frac{2}{3} = –2\)
We have an equation. We can solve for the unique value of p. This is sufficient. The fact that the left side of this equation is a re-written form of the prompt expression is simply irrelevant to solving the DS question.

OA = (B)

To find the value of the expression, we need
1# exact value of p.
2# exact value of the expression

Statement analysis
St 1: p^2 -5p +4 =0. or p = 4 or 1. INSUFFICIENT
St 2: 1/p + 2/3 = -2 or p = -3/8. By substituting the value, ANSWER can be obtained.
