What is the value of a?
(1) |a|−|b|=0 --> |a| = |b|. This means that a and b are the same distance from 0. Not sufficient.
(2) |a|+|b|=0. The absolute value of a number is non-negative, so we have that the sum of two non-negative values is 0. This is only possible if each of them is 0: |a| = |b| = 0 --> a = 0. Sufficient.
Answer: B.
