value of k ?
statement 1 : k/2 is an integer means that k can take all values which are multiples of 2 i.e. 2,4,6,8,10.... and so on as all of them when divided by 2 would result in an integer value. hence insufficient
Statement 2 : k is prime, means that k can take values of 2,3,5,7,11.. and so on and hence is insufficient.

St 1 + St 2 = shows the value common to both sets and satifying both statements i.e. k=2 as 2 is the only even prime number and when divided by 2 would result in an integer.

hence answer is C as both statements together are sufficient.

What is the value of integer k?

(1) k/2 is an integer
(2) k is prime

(1) k can take any even (+ve or -ve) integer..not sufficient

(2) k can take 2,3, 5, 7,......

on combining k can only take 2 (only even prime)
