Statement 1: 5p - 20 = 5
From this we can get the value of p, which is 5.
Therefore Statement 1 Alone is Sufficient. Answer options could be A or D
Statement 2: (p - 10)^2 = p^2
Expanding p^2 - 20p + 100 = p^2
Again we can get a value for p from this equation which is 5.
Therefore Statement 2 Alone is Sufficient.

IMO D:
(1) clearly sufficient, no power or any extras so p=5 --> SUFFICIENT
(2) (p-10)^2=p^2
p^2-20p+100=p^2 --> subtract p^2 and add 20p to both sides
20p=100
p=5
--> SUFFICIENT
