What is the value of the two-digit number XY, where X represents the tens digit and Y represents the units digit?

(1) The product of the digits is 12.

(2) The sum of the digits is 8.

A) can be 6 and 2 or 4 and 3. Insuff
B)can be 2 and 6 or 1 and 7 . Insuff.
From both we see that it is 2 and 6 but we can say NOTHING about the value of the number , if it is 26 or 62
The ans should be E)

So (1) is not sufficient.

From statement 2, we have X+Y = 8
Possible values

So (2) is not sufficient

Using (1) and (2), XY can be 62 or 26. So answer is (E)
