What is the value of x ?
(1) -(x + y)= x- y --> \(-x-y=x-y\) --> \(2x=0\) --> \(x=0\). Sufficient.
(2) x + y = 2. We cannot solve for x. Not sufficient.
Answer: A.

Question: x = ?
Statement 1: -(x + y) = x - y
i.e. -x -y = x-y
i.e. -x = x
i.e. 2x = 0
i.e. x = 0
SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: x + y = 2
if x = 0 then y = 2
if x = 1 then y = 1
Multiple values of x are possible hence
NOT SUFFICIENT
ANswer: Option A
