What is the volume of a cardboard box with sides a, b, and c?
1. a = 12/bc
2. b = 3, c = 2
* Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but Statement (2) ALONE is not sufficient
* Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but Statement (1) ALONE is not sufficient
* BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient
* EACH statement ALONE is sufficient
* Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient
Here, I know the OA and also understand it. My doubt is on the question. Is it properly worded. It is asked volume of a cardboard and the it is assumed that cardboard box is a rectangular box.. Are we right in assuming that the box is rectangular ?? Can't a box be triangular ?? Does the volume of triangular box will also be abc ??

From wikpedia so take it for what it's worth...
"Box describes a variety of containers and receptacles. When no specific shape is described, a typical rectangular box may be expected."
I think it's safe to assume that unless otherwise noted, a box is rectangular.
