Actually, its not that big a deal. I enrolled in a writing course at one of the local community colleges. While the class is not a miracle-pill for essay writing troubles, it does teach you how to brainstorm, organize and verbalize your thoughts in an structured manner.

But wouldn't the work needed for the class eat up some essential time that we so desperately need for applications?

In any case, this is an impressive feat. Shows how sincere you are towards the applications.

Not really. I am almost done with the course. It started in spring and will finish up by mid-July. The advantage of the course is that you are required to do a lot of writing exercises. I used some of my exercises to get a head start on the typical MBA essays.
