What percent of the girls in the class failed at an exam?
—>( \(\frac{x}{100}\))G = ???

(Statement1)
( \(\frac{2}{3}\))B — passed—> (\(\frac{1}{3}\))B—failed

(\(\frac{1}{3}\))(B+G) —failed.
—>( \(\frac{1}{3}\))*B + (\(\frac{1}{3}\))*G —(\(\frac{1}{3}\))B= (\(\frac{1}{3}\))*G — failed
33.3% of the girls failed in the exam
Sufficient

(Statement2) There are 30 boys and 24 girls in the class.
Clearly insufficient

The answer is A

statement 1)

let boys be X and girls be Y.

2/3*X passed

1/3*(X+Y) failed => .2/3*(X+Y) passed.

since 2/3*X passed , therefore 2/3*Y also passed.

sufficient.
