Hey guys!
I've just taken the GMAT today and my results were very disappointing. I got 510 with (42Q,19V). I wasn't expecting a score in the 700s but I wasn't expecting this either since I've taken 4 Prep tests scored much better than this (Gmatprep both trials 580 (44Q,27), Manhattan 620 (37,37), the economist 630 with (43Q,34)) and I only missed 2 (out of 41) on GMATclub verbal test (if that counts at all). All these tests were completed under exam like conditions including AWA, IR, Same breaks etc. so I am a bit surprised from my score on the verbal section in particular.
I've been studying from both Kaplan Review and Kaplan 800+ as well as the OG 11th edition (which I discovered to be obsolete just a week or so before the exam after) I've solved every problem in those books, analysed my mistakes and took plenty of notes. However my biggest fault was that I kept the CAT's till the week before the exam to build up my stamina.
It is also worth mentioning that I was severely sick with a severe cold on the days leading to the exam and just slightly got better on the exam's day (for which I was on medication), is it possible that this is had some effect? or is it simply that I prepared the wrong way?
Lastly, I got an easy 7 in IR and most likely will get a 5.5-6 on the AWA since I nailed that piece. However, I need a 550-600 for most of the schools I'm applying to, however if I want to retake the test I have to take it in 19 days maximum (after confirming that there are empty places) and before the deadlines are due. Do you think I could score above 600 in just about two weeks? and if yes what material should I refer to? and what else should I have done?
Thanks for reading through all this. Best of luck to All.
Cheers!
