Yes, the GMAT does not like stacked modifiers that are modifying the same thing. To solve the problem of a stacked modifier, the GMAT will reposition one of the modifiers or join the two modifiers together.
In this sentence, you could see a correct answer that says " The eight year old ant, one of the oldest on record, was..."
