Hi. I am not a native speaker but my entire education has been thoroughly carried out in English. I am pretty comfortable with English including grammar, syntax, etc. When I started my GMAT prep, the first mock score I got in Verbal was V33. However, my score has pretty much remained similar throughout my journey till date. I once score a V47 on a Princeton mock though. I have also scored a few V40s on Princeton mocks. But, my mba.com mocks have always average around V33.
The fact is that I never really studied much for Verbal. My entire GMAT preparation has centered on Quant, which was a major weak area for me. However, through consistent studying, I have taken my initial Q29 to Q49 in my last mba.com mock. I am still not taking Quant easy but I think if I could improve my Verbal a few points, that would really help improve my overall score.
So, my question is what should I do to improve my scores from V33 to like V39+? Essentially, how and from where can I learn verbal strategies for each topic. My GMAT is in two weeks time.
Thanks.

As I said, I have always been pretty comfortable with English, and that coupled with my grasp over basic English grammar, syntax, etc., never really made me feel the need to study for Verbal extensively. But, still, to overcome my V33 plateau, I bought the Manhattan CR guide and went through it cover to cover. I haven't seen any major changes in my score though.

Hi Louis14,
As you have only two weeks of time, I suggest you to learn the right methodology to solve questions. You might not be able to learn the methods, but at least a few of them would help. You can go through the these recordings to get an idea of a few methodologies. If you wish to learn completely and are looking for a quick improvement, then I would recommend you to get in touch with me over a call because I would require a few more details to suggest you a proper plan for two weeks. Because improving your verbal score from 33 to 39 requires a lot of effort and you need to focus on the right parameters to do that. I'm sharing the link below using which you can schedule a free consultation call with our GMAT Strategy Consultant.
