I am working in Samsung Semiconductor India Research Bangalore as a hardware engineer with CTC 16.35 lpa . My education details- Madhyamik -90.5%
H.S -85%
C.g.p.a -8.1 Jadavpur University (B.E Electronics & Telecommunications Engg.)

Projects done all in technical field either in hardware or software.
MOOCs done in both
Internships done in management and marketing.

I have already prepared good for CAT examinations and hoping for a good score.

But I have a dilemma regarding what to choose whether it is the pgp programme (2 yrs) or is it better to remain for around 5/7 years and then go for pgpx/pgpex/epgp programme (only consider IIM ABC).I am only going to IIMs for a better hike in salary i.e., my current salary.Areas of interest to go is Finance, consulting, marketing and sales,FMCG,product management, project management,General management,Strategy.
I am very much inclined to finance as I am now getting knowledge in this field.
Please answer in terms of salary point of view and prospects regarding Companies recruiting. Also tell how much of value will the lateral placements in pgp courses offer for such profiles.

I would suggest you to go for PGP. Think about the growth rate now as compared to when you complete the course 6-7 years later. You'll have a much better experience, position and salary package. If you do it after 5-7 years, growth prospects won't be that much. Also, try to think Beyond IIMs i.e also research on global Bschools which rank higher than IIMs if salary and growth is what yyou seek
