Your resume doesn’t just summarize your career. It shapes your entire application.
One of the most common misconceptions about the MBA application is that your essays do all the heavy lifting. And while your essays are incredibly important, they are not the starting point for the admissions committee.
When your application is reviewed, the first thing an AdCom member looks at is your resume.
That one page sets the tone for everything that follows. It’s where they form their most important impression of your professional identity, your momentum, and the kind of potential you might bring to their MBA program.
To help all Round 1 MBA candidates, I’m kicking off a new video series that focuses entirely on the resume—because no matter how strong your experience is, if it isn’t framed clearly and strategically, the AdCom may not see its value.
In the first MBA resume video, I've covered:
🎯 Why the resume is the real starting point of your application strategy
🔍 What AdComs are actually scanning for in those critical first 30–60 seconds
🧩 The difference between a resume that merely lists responsibilities—and one that drives your candidacy forward
If you’re applying in Round 1 or even just beginning to explore the process, I encourage you to take 4 minutes to watch it. Ideally, with your resume open beside you. It may change the way you think about how to present your experience.
Watch it here - and if you have questions, fire away!
