Here are my suggestions. I would recommend mostly relaxing the day before... take a CAT and relax.

PS. I don’t know anyone who slept well before the GMAT ;-)

I did. I made sure I drain myself enough to get a good sleep. :)

(Yeah. I don't have my dream score yet but I did sleep well )

You are the first one! :-)
I think most of us get about 4-5 hours of sleep the night of the test, unless you schedule it for afternoon. I perform better in the morning so I scheduled mine for 8 or 9 Am.

I am super excited. Nervous, scared all at the same time.
This is reassuring, that I am not the only one :p

Oh Yeah. The catch was I had scheduled 3:30PM slot to make sure I am not tensed.

(Probably that won't be the case for second attempt. I am thinking Monday morning 8am as suggested by Rich. I will also train myself accordingly.)

Haha ... ain't no way I would do that. I like the idea of scheduling it for around 11 am, waking up without an alarm (and without worrying at all about sleeping too late), eating enough to get me through the test, taking my time getting there, and chilling and playing the game to win.

But everyone has his own style.

Anyway, remember to warm up before you take the test. Warming up by doing a bunch of practice questions gets you into GMAT mode, and if you miss some of your warmup questions, don't worry about it. The point is to get warmed up, and miss some, if you miss any, BEFORE you take the test.

Enjoy the game!

I am planning to do the following before my exam at 3 pm (IST) on 06.01.2020:
1. Revise AWA Template, Solve a few IR Questions- 2 hours.
2. GMAT Club Tests error log- 4 hours.
3. Egmat Error log-2 hours(Since, I have not built a good error log, things will go quickly)
4. 10 Questions from each of the 5 Subjects- 4 Hours*2 8 hours
5. Go through Quant Notes- 3 hours.
6. Sleep well

Any other suggestions?

I am prepared to embrace whatever the result is. I want to give the best shot to boost my score :)
I can't stay calm or just relax.
Thank You in advance :)
That plan sounds good. The key things the day before the test are to keep yourself in the mode of the GMAT game, and yet to give yourself some rest and recovery, and your plan seems to cover both.

Hi ferrero57,

How did your Official GMAT go?

And TheNightKing - for performance purposes, most GMATers do perform best 'early in the day and early in the week' (and that often means that a Monday morning Exam is best for most people). That having been said, "early in the day" could mean 8am or 9am or 11am - depending on the typical time that YOU wake up in the morning. "Early in the week" is Monday for most people, but if you don't work Monday - Friday (with Saturday and/or Sunday off), then you might consider a different day (one that comes after 1-2 days off in your calendar).

Yes Rich. I agree 100%.
I am going to train myself accordingly for the second attempt

Also, One more thing that will play a big role in case of Monday morning slot is the number of test takers at the test center. I mean the 8 minute break could take forever if there are too many candidates for the admin to handle. So there basically should not be too many GMAT takers at the same time and taking breaks almost at similar time. This is very very crucial.

Thank you!

Quick word of advice for time of day. I found in the morning I’m not as sharp and some trick questions get me I’m pretty good in the late morning and great early afternoon. Then bad in the evening. I expect it is different for everyone so pay attention to how you do with your studies and practice questions at different times of the day and take it at your best time. I think it is worth about 30-60 points.

Hi Rich ,
I got a 690(Q48, V36).
This is not adequate for me to get into the B School of my choice.
The quant part went really well and I was expecting a better score.
On the other hand, I was sure not at all confident while marking Verbal answers. I expected to score around V28.

Regarding what I did in the last 24 hours,
I followed what I had planned.
In the GMAT centre, I become kinda numb, listening to the
Instructions.
I just said squares from 1-12 to make sure, that I am back to the GMAT mode.
(On a test day, I would have chanted names of Gods, but, I thought GMAT is chill, why bother God) :D

I am happy with the score, No.
I am happy with the efforts I put in, Yes.

My personal opinion: Stay calm and relaxed as much as you can. Meditate maybe, If you're facing anxiety issues. But since you've mentioned staying calm doesn't come up your way, you might want to go through these. Gooluck for the exam! Hope you rock it. and yeah, don't forget to write a debrief about your experience in here https://gmatclub.com/forum/share-gmat-experience-8/

Thank you for the wishes.
I will surely write a debrief when I know I have made it.
The community has helped me tremendously, and I owe it a lot more. :)

Hi ferrero57,

690 is still a very nice start! If you need any advice regarding a retake, feel free to reach back out.

Good luck!
