Hi, What do you do if you are waitlisted. Do nothing, or trying hard to get in.
I don't know what to do but I heard, depends on the school, if you show your eagerness to go to the school, either the school will look down on you OR the school is waiting for you to show your seriousness. Which is the case for none-top 10 schools.

Ask the school. Some schools will frown up on it and some want you to do it. Admissions hates nothing more than people who can't follow directions. Better to be safe than sorry.

Agree that you should follow directions, but I would suggest you get those directions from your WL letter rather than calling the school and indicating you are unable to figure it out. I've been WL'd twice and it was very clear from the letter whether they wanted additional materials.
Your question seems to be more like should you play hard-to-get. The answer is no. If the school allows additional materials, craft something good and send it. Get another recommendation letter from someone who knows you in a different capacity than your original recs. Let them know that should they give you an offer you will definitely help their yield and accept (don't say the yield part). Basically they've left the door open a tiny crack, you have to do anything and everything to pry that door open.
As mentioned, this all assumes the school allows additional material. If they don't, then follow the directions and do nothing.
