Hi all,
I had the opportunity to join this club just recently. I am one of those who have been procrastinating the prep forever!! got the fervour back after looking at the zeal here!!
In due course of time I have amassed a lot of books and material and now I am lost!! Got
- OG 10,11 and 12 edition
- Princeton 2006 and 2009
- Kaplan 2006 and 2009
- Soft copy of CR LSAT and 1000 series questions!!
- 800 GMAT Material for all sections
- other random concepts and practise paper tests
Apart from these I got lots of CAT and CBT test- Whew!!
How do you think I should go about? Should I leave out on OG 10 and 11 and the old editions of Princeton and Kaplan? Apart from the what to start with dilemma please do consider in your reply that I have an extremely tight schedule, no weekends, I will be able to spare 1-2 hours daily. I am aiming for atleast 750!! I know very ambitious! but I am going to do it!! Please advise..
Here is what I would suggest to do in the given order:
1. Leave out old versions of Kaplan and Princeton. Out of newer versions, start your preparation with either of the Kaplan or Priceton books (which ever you like). I don't see a point in doing both the books.
2. Keep working on the Kaplan/Princeton CAT tests as you progress.
3. Use 1000 series questions for extra practice. But don't use this towards the end of preparation.
4. OG 10 is equivalent to OG11+Verbal supplement+quant supplement (with few newer questions and better explanation)
OG11 is equal to OG12 + few high difficulty question
So, I would suggest to go with OG12. Get a OG verbal / quant supplement if you need extra practice. Go through OG atleast twice.
5. Keep practicing with GMATPrep tests as you progress. (You can attempt GMATPrep multiple times). At the end of each test, analyze the weak areas and review those topics again.
I don't think going through all other sub-standard material will be beneficial. Even you can skip 1000 series questions if you don't have lot of time.
If you think SC or CR or any other area is a weak area, get a Manhattan book for the same.
